Financial Aid

Regardless of your affiliation (independent delegate or part of a delegation), you can apply for financial aid to help offset the cost of attending URMUN25.

The University of Regina Model United Nations Conference [URMUN25] is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where financial constraints do not hinder participation. Recognizing the diverse backgrounds of our international attendees, financial aid has been introduced primarily to support high school students. However, this aid may be extended to other participants with demonstrable financial needs. Our goal is to ensure that financial constraints do not prevent anyone from participating in URMUN25.

*Please note: That the financial aid provided by URMUN25 is applicable only to the delegate/delegation registration fee. External costs such as transportation and accommodation are not covered by the aid. While we strive to assist as many participants as possible, full or partial financial aid is not guaranteed and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to fairly ensure the disbursement of the financial aid, we are looking for eligibility of each application. The eligibility criteria for the financial aid is as follows:

For Independent Delegates

For Group Delegation

  • You are covering for all the expenses without financial support from your school, or your school is not able to cover the expense of the registration fee.
  • You reside a considerable distance from Regina, Saskatchewan, which forces you to spend extra on traveling and accommodations for URMUN.
  • The school/institution is not able to cover the cost of the registration fee for your delegation.
  • Your delegation size consists of 7 or more people.
  • Your delegation is located a considerable distance from Regina, Saskatchewan, which forces you to spend extra on traveling and accommodations for URMUN

Also note: Applicants must provide evidence of financial need, which may include documentation such as a letter from a school administrator, financial statements, or a detailed explanation of their financial situation

Application Process

During the registration process, interested participants will find an option to apply for financial aid on the registration form. We ask that you provide a personal statement explaining your financial situation and the requesting aid.

  • For Independent Delegates: If your school is unable to cover the expenses, include the school’s name, a point of contact, and specify what expenses (if any) the school might cover (e.g., travel, food, etc.).
  • For Group Delegations: Mention your group delegation size and any relevant details regarding your financial situation.
  • Geographic Information: If you live outside of Saskatchewan, Canada, please indicate from where you are traveling and on what you might spend extra money.

This information helps us understand your eligibility and allocate aid effectively.
